ON THE RECORD is Civil Liberties Action’s public archive of consequential statements made by people and organisations influencing British public life.
The project applies a strict publication threshold: the discriminatory or exclusionary proposition must be clear from the words themselves. CLA should not need to add commentary in order to make the statement appear discriminatory.
Every published record includes the attributable words, original source or strongest available evidence, relevant context, evidence status and legal status.
Inclusion is not an allegation of illegality. CLA distinguishes political speech from unlawful conduct, allegations from findings, and association from attribution.
