Independent councillor, North Harrow, Harrow Council

“we need to bully you back to Pakistan”

Context

Byline Times reported on 13 April 2026 that the words above appeared in an X post attributed to William “Will” Jackson, directed at Blackburn MP Adnan Hussain, who was born in Lancashire. The investigation reproduced screenshots and reported further posts from the same account telling other British MPs of Asian heritage to “go back” to Pakistan or Bangladesh, calling for deportation, or denying that they were British. The account was later deleted.

Response and political status

The Conservative Party described the apparent comments as “wholly unacceptable”, suspended Jackson pending an investigation and withdrew support for his campaign. Because ballot papers had already been prepared, he remained listed as a Conservative candidate and was elected to Harrow Council in May 2026. Harrow Council now lists him as an Independent. The London Standard reported that Jackson was approached for comment before its 21 April report but did not respond.
