Support independent campaigning

Help make the case for equal treatment.

Evidence takes work. So does getting it heard. Your contribution helps Civil Liberties Action research, publish and communicate the case for change.

From holding public figures to account to challenging addiction’s special exclusion from disability protection, we turn clear principles into specific, evidenced arguments.

What your support makes possible

Good evidence. A stronger public voice.

Contributions support CLA’s work as a whole, across its campaigns and the practical costs of keeping that work available.

Build the evidence

Find original sources, check context and develop clear research notes and policy arguments. Our work separates what the evidence shows from interpretation and uncertainty.

Keep the record open

Publish evidence, briefings and campaign correspondence so people can examine the case for themselves. Website, publishing and essential tools are part of making that possible.

Help the case reach people

Communicate our findings, develop campaign materials and bring focused proposals to public attention. Support helps give careful work a wider audience.

Focused campaigns. A shared principle.

Equal treatment in practice.

Far-right influence & accountability

Document public statements with sources and context, challenge discriminatory rhetoric and examine influence where the evidence supports it.

Addiction & disability protection

Seek removal of addiction’s special exclusion from disability protection, so people can be assessed individually under the ordinary test, with practical safety safeguards.

Before you contribute

Clear about where we are.

CLA is an independent, founder-led project at an early stage. Your support should come with a clear understanding of what you are funding.

Who runs CLA and receives the money?

CLA is currently run personally by its founder, who campaigns publicly as Frank Reed. Contributions are received through the founder’s CLA store and managed by the founder for the project. CLA is not currently a registered charity or an independently governed organisation.

How will my contribution be used?

Contributions support CLA’s general campaigning, research, publishing and outreach, including website costs, essential tools and payment or app fees. They are not restricted to one campaign or a specific purchase. Money not yet spent remains available for CLA’s ongoing work; there is no fixed campaign target or guaranteed outcome.

Is this a subscription or a charitable donation?

This is a voluntary, one-off contribution to a personally run campaigning project. It does not set up a recurring payment, buy a physical product or qualify for Gift Aid.

Can I follow the work or ask about a payment?

Read our published work and updates and evidence standards. For a payment made in error, a refund request or a question about supporting CLA, contact us with your order reference. Do not send card details.

Support is more than money.

Sharing our published work, suggesting a source or contributing professional knowledge and lived experience all help. There is no need to donate to take part.
